Happy friday everyone!

I’m excited today, cause I’m going to do something I’ve never done before,
and I’m actually a bit scared if you’d even like it LOL

I was soooo happy with how my BitterSweet image came out after drawing and coloring,
that I’ve ordered a T-Shirt with this print on it.
You can find the stamp here
TSC_BitterSweetColored

I received it last week, and OMG it’s awesome!
Great quality of fabric, the colors rock, and it even has a little bit
of shimmering in the colors.

Tutorial Thursday – Aluminum Foil Not Just for Left-Overs Anymore!

Welcome, its Lynne here one of The Stamping Chef’s Sous Chef’s  to The Stamping Chef’s Tutorial Thursday and today’s project is will be a total surprise for you . . . . yes, Aluminum Foil is no longer just for kitchen use or left-overs anymore!!!! If you happened to see my project yesterday, you might have noticed that I had made a card using aluminum foil as my “metal” accent. Just in case you missed it . . . . .

Lynne

The image I used is from The Stamping Chef and is Steampunk Hat which was colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers and then chalked around the edges to give the vintage look. For further instructions, please, stop at my blog, Her Craftiness, posting for The Stamping Chef Challenge, Metal.  We, at The Stamping Chef hope you would want to submit your own version of “METAL” at TSC Recipes on FaceBook

HINTS, TIPS, and HOW-TO’s:

  • I used my Cuttlebug and the above card is my Steampunk embossing folder which was then “inked” with a stamp pad to accentuate the embossing
  • aluminum foil actually cuts with your paper cutter as long as the blade is not a worn-out blade but instead one that is faily new
  • depending on the amount of embossing that your folder is depends on how many layers of aluminum foil – I recommend at least 2 layers of foil – below are samples of 1-layer, 2-layer, and finally 3-layer

IMG_1158

  • isn’t fantastic how amazing they all look with something that everyone has in their house at little or no additional expense???

Now, your question, how to adhere to your card -

  • you need to glue your base that the aluminum foil needs to be adhered to first. I find that using my ATG gun works the best and holds it best with little or no tearing
  • if you are adhering anything to the aluminum foil, I find that puff-dotting my item to the foil works best
  • aluminum foil gives a great look to sew many different style of cards such as the “steampunk”, but also for Halloween, for mirrors, along with shabby chic – the only restriction is your imagination!!!!
  • reminder that it is fragile and treat it as if it were tissue paper!

I had first seen this technique on Canadian Nickel’s Blog and just knew it was something I wanted to do and hope that perhaps you do also!!!

God Bless you and thank you ever sew much for stopping by today! We love reading comments and would love to read yours . . . .

Much love, hugs, and friendship

Lynne

Monday Spotlight

Good Monday for everyone!

Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend.

We had loads of fun last week with our “Keep Calm, and be Geekie” over at our Fan Group.

Our fans could request a new digi which they had to use for their project.
This week it was Keep Calm, and be Geekie!
TSC_Geekie

The entries were so Nerdy and Awesome, that it was really hard to pick a winner!

Kezzla Brown made this lovely card, which has a school feeling to me with the colors.

KezzlaGeekie

So we’re going to name her winner of the week, and she can pick out a digi from the shop!

If you want to play along with our group challenges, just hop over to our FB group
cause this week we’re going to use a 80′s, Powerful Punk-ish digi

The image for this week is “Punk Power” and also the theme of our challenge.
This image will be free from monday 12pm CET till tuesday 9am CET.
After that our members will receive a 50% discount coupon to enter the challenge still.

TSC_PunkPower

So I hope we can welcome you to our group, and to see all your TSC Projects!!

We are so glad you stopped by to visit as we share our Saturday Spotlight Designer!!

Please join us as we welcome Sylvia Anderson as our Spotlight Designer!!!

Sylvia Anderson May 18th

Hi everyone, my name is Sylvia, I live in the northeast of England.
My daughter got me interested in cardmaking many years ago, but I actually started making them about 4 years ago, when I joined a craft group in my area (Crafty Crafters) I am now their secretary, we have lots of trips to craft venues.
I’ve tried most crafts, but cardmaking is my favourite, because the possibilities are endless & I never get bored.
I am on the Design Teams for Emma’s Crafty Challenge, LEJ Designs & The Crafting Café.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a Saturday Spotlight Designer.

Thursday Tutorial with Sandy

Thursday Tutorial Hi friends, Sandy here with another Thursday tutorial for The Stamping Chef and featuring the Chef’s digi-stamps.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a card for TSC and got a couple of requests on how to do the criss-cross fancy fold.  Here is the card that I did featuring BABYDOLL (she is a freebie at TSC store)….

As you can see, the front folds are cut at an angle and open to reveal the cute image and sentiments.

So lets get started…

  • start with a 12×12 double side card stock
  • cut in half, giving you 2 pieces of 6×12 card bases

  •  score at 4″ and 8″ horizontally

  • now the card magic… measure down 4″ and lightly pencil mark along the outside edge
  • flip and do the other side, measuring down 4″
  • using your paper trimmer, place your paper diagonal on the trimmer lining up the 4″ score line at the top with the now 4″ pencil mark on the side and cut
  • that’s all there is to it, a very easy card to make

  •  For this card, I did it a little different than the first one
  • I place adhesive along on side and bottom of card and folded making it a criss-cross envelop
  • using a border punch, paper flowers and the scrap triangles, added a little embellishment to the front

  •  the mat sizes are… 3.75″x 5″ (white), 3.5″x 4.5″ (pink), circle with digi stamp is 3.5″ big
  • digital stamp used is All Girl (she is a part of the “Expresso Yourself” line found HERE)

Hope you liked this quick and easy card project.  We would love for you to follow The Stamping Chef Blog and see the new releases along with the current challenge (animals/pets) that we are having.  Also if you want to hop over to The Stamping Chef Store there is a current t-shirt promotion going on right now!

Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,
