Please join us as we welcome  Ruza Rebel   as our Spotlight designer

Ruza small

Hi, my name is Ruza Rebel. I’ve been crafting in one form or another since I was a child … crocheting, needlepoint, knitting, scrapbooking, and in August 2009 I started making cards for family birthdays, anniversaries, etc., as a way to stay busy while my daughter was at school, and never stopped.  My blog “Ruza’s Craft Corner” was created in November 2011 so that I could share my designs, and I just recently became Copic Certified.

Thank you for having me as a Guest Designer this month!

Ruza created her gorgeous card using I’m a Raver which you can find in the store here

Saturday Spotlight Designer

Hello and a Happy Saturday to everyone!!

We are so glad you stopped by to visit as we share our  Saturday Spotlight Designer!!

I’m a social worker, tree hugger and veggie lover. I’m also a lover of coffee. And sheep. And people. Oh and I’m big on crafts (you didn’t see that one coming, did you?).

At high school I went to the Aesthetic Program – textile/fashion. For several years my crafting was focused on sewing – only. When I had finished high school I was so tired of sewing that my brand new sewing machine was left untouched for a long time. I went to college and didn’t find time for bigger craft projects, such as sewing. Eventually I felt the need to craft again. I started painting… with all the left-overs of my nail polish. Since I worked in the care, I couldn’t use nail polish anymore since that would be against the hygiene regulations. I made small paintings (in post-card-sizes) and I found myself enjoying it. Later I purchased actual paint, instead of nail polish. Then it didn’t take me long before I had discovered the world of scrap-booking/card-making with all the different and fabulous papers, digital stamps and other scrap-booking supplies. I found that it suited me perfectly. It wasn’t too time-consuming or demanding. Also I didn’t have to rip more seams (which my sewing projects had often resulted in).

Wiola created her fabulous card using Lost Fairy which you can find in the store here
DSCN9347

I have actually painted the fairy in my card with nail polish, except for the skin which I painted with ProMarker – Almond. I still like to paint things (and not my nails) with nail polish. Nowadays I purchase nail polish only for card-making. I guess I’m weird that way. The flowers come from the local craft store Pysselmakaren, and so do the leaves in the corners of my card (I have painted them with green and golden acrylic paint). The little ladybird bead comes from Pärlgården. The background is painted with green, blue, purple, golden and orange acrylic paint mixed with soap (the latter is especially important if you want to create the kind of effect that you can see in the photo). The white stone, which you can see on the right side of my card, was found at the beach. I like to incorporate some natural items in my creations. I love the nature (but I have an irrational fear of ants). I live in the deep forests of Sweden, but you can also find me here: http://chasingfabrics.blogspot.com

For all the fighters, survivors and Angels!!

Hi all!

Today I want to stand still by this awfull illness,
which is affecting so many of our friends, family or maybe ourselves.
Although people are trying to cure this illness, for some it comes to late.
Luckily lots of people will survive, like my dad who survived Prostate cancer last year,
or the very young daughter of a family friend, who is now clean from her Neuroblastoma.

Lives will be flipped upside down, insecurities and fear will be taking over.
Living with an illness myself, although not as devastating as Cancer, I know how hard
life can be everyday.

So for those who are living this nightmare, I’ve made this image, which will hopefully
inspire and motivate these people.

It’s called “Fighter” and you can purchase her here
TSC_Fighter_Preview

************
This whole week you can get her with 20% off if you use couponcode: TSCFigHt20

But for the people who are choosing NOT to use the couponcode, those 20% will be saved and donated to KWF Kankerbestrijding
which is our Dutch Cancer Society.

************

It’s not much, but I just want to reflect that TSC is not about financial gain.
Drawing is my passion, and I want to make people smile.

I hope you just appreciate the effort and maybe a little bit of difference in this cruel world.

Thursday Tutorial Home Decoration

HOME DECORATION
BY VALOU250809
1. Cut a piece of paper of 20 x 20 cms.
2. Drill three edges of this paper with a puncher border.
v1

3. Roll up to form a cone and stick inside by leaving a 3.5 cm edge. Use of double –
face for more ease.

v2

4. Bend the edge which stays with the handle of a pen or other one.

v3

5. Add a little texture on this edge to make it more attractive. For my part, I
added a piece of white lace, but you can put it for what you wish
according to your style and to your tastes.

v4

6. Print your image and colorize it. Put aside then.

v5

7. Fill the cone with the material as the absorbent cotton, the raffia.

v6

8. Then, I added a small egg in polyester.

v7

9. Now, it is necessary to fill the top of the cone with diverse flowers.

v8

v9

10. Apply some touches of “Glitter Stickels Icicle” to give of the shine.
11. Now, take a piece of lace or ribbon and stick every end on your cone to
realize a small handle. Realize two small knots and stick them on both
sides.

v11

Here we are! Your decoration of internal is almost ended.
